Leanna Blanchard, PT, DPT, CLT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Leanna Blanchard, PT, DPT, CLT, OCS, FAAOMPT received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from University of Michigan in 2012, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The George Washington University in 2015. She completed her residency in orthopaedic physical therapy through the joint program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The George Washington University, and received board certification in orthopaedic physical therapy (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association in 2017. Dr Blanchard completed a fellowship in orthopaedic manual physical therapy under Dr Carol Courtney at The University of Illinois at Chicago, and was recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) in 2018. She has since obtained additional certification as a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT). Dr Blanchard has lectured and provided mentorship at the DPT, residency, and fellowship levels, and published case reports in CRANIO and the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

Allison Burfield, PT, DPT, OCS earned her Bachelors of Science from Kent State University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University. Kathleen Chizewski Caulfield, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 2012 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2015. She then completed an orthopaedic physical therapy residency at UW Hospitals and Clinics and Unity Point Health – Meriter in 2016. Following her residency, she completed a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2017 at University of Illinois Chicago. She is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. She currently participates in patient care at Park Nicollet Clinics in Minneapolis, MN where she has the opportunity to mentor both residents and fellows. She is adjunct faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Minnesota. Her practice is focused on the spine and chronic pain.

Carol A. Courtney, PT, PhD, ATC, FAAOMPT

Carol A. Courtney, PT, PhD, ATC, FAAOMPT is Professor at Northwestern University. She received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St Louis, Master of Science from the University of South Australia and Louisiana State University, and a PhD from the University of Miami. Dr. Courtney is a licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer and has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. In 1991 and 1992, she was chosen to serve on the USA medical staffs for the Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba, and the Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Courtney has clinical expertise in the management of chronic musculoskeletal pain and sports injury. Her research investigates the effects of knee joint injury and osteoarthritis on pain processing and joint function, as well as modulation of pain mechanisms through manual therapy interventions. She has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and conference presentations and has presented both nationally and internationally.

Keelan R. Enseki, PT, MS, OCS, SCS, ATC attended the University of Pittsburgh where he completed a Master of Physical Therapy and a Master of Science Degree in Health and Rehabilitation Science. He subsequently completed the Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program through the University of Pittsburgh and Centers for Rehab Services/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Keelan is also a certified athletic trainer and board-certified orthopaedic and sports physical therapy clinical specialist. He is currently serving as the Director of Clinical Practice Innovation, Administrative Director of Physical Therapy Residency Programs, and Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program Director at the Centers for Rehab Services/UPMC Center for Sports Medicine Clinic as well as an adjunct and clinical instructor for the University of Pittsburgh Departments of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and Nutrition. Keelan’s time is divided between clinical practice, residency administration and education, project consultation, and professional development responsibilities. Keelan regularly publishes and presents nationally and internationally, having published 20 peer-reviewed articles and 8 book chapters and having presented more than 50 invited presentations on the topics of hip region injuries and rehabilitation. Keelan is a member of the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, and currently serves as chairperson and author contributor to the ICF-linked clinical practice guidelines of the hip. He is a member and serves as the vice chair for the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy Hip Special Interest Group. He is also on the Physiotherapy Committee for the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA).

John J. Fraser, PT, DPT, PhD is a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist, currently serving as the Deputy Director for Operational Readiness and the Department Head of Warfighter Performance at the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, California. Dr. Fraser is a graduate of the Physical Therapy Program at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York in 2002, and the post-professional DPT program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2018. He was conferred the PhD in Education, Kinesiology-Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia in 2017, where he studied the role of the foot in lateral ankle sprains and chronic ankle instability. His research interests and scholarship are concentrated on ankle-foot neuromusculoskeletal function, rehabilitation, and public health of military tactical-athletes.

Max Jordon, PT, DPT, PhD

Max Jordon, PT, DPT, PhD graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of South Carolina in 2011. After working as a full-time clinician in an outpatient orthopedic practice, he returned to the University of South Carolina to work on his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences. His predoctoral work focused primarily on the interactions between pain and motor control using functional magnetic resonance imaging in individuals with chronic low back pain. While he was working on his PhD, he continued to work in the clinic where he started to specialize in chronic pain and low back pain management. Dr. Jordon completed his PhD in 2019, at which time he joined the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy. At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga he is part of the orthopedic faculty with a focus on teaching spine and upper extremity disorders. He continues to see patients in the student pro bono clinic and is actively engaged in research as it relates to motor control in the lumbar spine.

Dave Kohlrieser, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ohio University where he received a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and a doctor of physical therapy degree. He completed a sports physical therapy residency program with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers, Centers for Rehab Services. He was appointed as a faculty member for the sports and orthopedic residency programs while being employed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Center for Sports Medicine. He is a board-certified sports and orthopaedic clinical specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. His professional sports experiences include an affiliation with the Pittsburgh Steelers and working as a physical therapist for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dave is currently employed at Orthopedic One in Columbus Ohio, where he coordinates rehabilitation for a wide variety of surgical and non-surgical hip conditions. Dave has presented to national and international audiences on topics related to rehabilitation of various hip pathologies. He has authored and co-authored book chapters and peer reviewed articles on topics associated with the rehabilitation of intra- and extra-articular conditions of the hip and pelvis.

Tara Manal, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAPTA received her Masters in Physical Therapy degree in 1993 from the University of Delaware (UD) and her DPT from Temple University in 2006. Tara lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to physical therapy, residency training, reduction of variability of practice, and her area of expertise in electrical stimulation, low back, knee injuries, and more. Until recently (June 2021) she taught within UD’s DPT curriculum in courses related to spine management, physical therapy as a profession, rounds, and emergency response. She was also Director of Clinical Services and Residency Training at UD and provides expert consultations in the clinic in her areas of specialty.

Sean P. Riley, PT, DPT, ScD is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, USA. He graduated from the University of Connecticut Physical Therapy Program in 2004 and completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Simmons College in 2006. He obtained his Doctor of Science from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2013. Sean is also an Associate Editor for The Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy. He is part of the team revising the Clinical Practice Guideline for Adhesive Capsulitis. Sean serves as a research committee member for the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He has served as a grant reviewer, poster presentation judge, and abstract mentor for research submissions.
