Executive Director:  Terri DeFlorian

Description of Duties: My main responsibility areas include management and development of staff including developing and clarifying all roles, duties and responsibilities; operations compliance, contracts, ensuring building maintenance, managing tenants, and directing development of objectives, policies, budgets and operating plans for AOPT; financial management; ensuring the AOPT mission is carried out through adherence to bylaws, policies, strategic outputs, and actions of the Board; and supporting AOPT leadership in their professional association relationships.

Employed since: 1988.

Hobbies: I enjoy riding and training my horses, working out at Burn Boot Camp, and spending time with my 3-year old Grandson.

Assistant Executive Director: Tara Fredrickson

Description of duties: I oversee the Academy's website, responsible for planning the AOPT's offsite educational offerings and Board Meetings, manage the Academy's Special Interest Groups and assist the Academy's Committees wherever necessary and work with the Executive Director on Board-related tasks and initiatives.

Employed since: 1993.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 sons and our dog, golfing, and relaxing whenever I can!

Description of duties: I am responsible for all stages of production, advertising sales, marketing plans, and author-related interaction for Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice and Independent Study Courses.

Employed since: 1990.

Hobbies: I enjoy reading, traveling (especially road trips), and spending time with family.

Account Executive/Executive Assistant: Nichole Walleen

Description of duties: I am the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director and the Assistant Executive Directors, working closely with both to assist with Board-related tasks and events. In addition to this role, I oversee Management Services and serve as the Executive Director for the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology & Wound Management and the Maine Chapter.

Employed since: 2019

Hobbies: I spend my off time with my partner, our five children, attending numerous sporting events and volunteering.

Bookkeeper: Joyce Brueggemann

Description of duties: I report financial information to the Board of Directors, create the annual budget, record Independent Study Course sales, and manage accounts payables and receivables. I also help my co-workers with any reporting spreadsheets requested.

Employed since: 2020.

Hobbies: In my free time I enjoy spending time with my grandkids and riding my motorcycle with my husband.

Description of duties: I am responsible for administration, member services, graphic design, marketing, and social media efforts.

Employed since: 2020.

Hobbies: I am in martial arts, enjoy swimming, cycling with my family, painting, and photography. I also love animals!
