Make an Impact at CSM 2026: Volunteer with PT in the Community!
PT in the Community is gearing up for efforts during APTA CSM 2026 in Anaheim, CA, and has been collaborating with the California Physical Therapy Association and leaders within the Orange County district for several months. We have identified numerous well deserving, local organizations as partners and the following are opportunities to give back and support those communities that are underserved and disadvantaged.

Many PT in the Community events already have scheduled dates and times during the APTA CSM week. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Volunteer Opportunities
Mercy House
Providing dignified housing and comprehensive supportive services
We will be supporting Mercy House in multiple ways:
- Meal Service & Donation Organizing Assistance
- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
- Location: Anaheim
- Meal Prepping: PB&J Lunch Bags
- Friday | 7:00 AM
- Hilton - Monterey
- Assembling Hygiene Kits
- Friday | 9:00–11:00 AM

Anaheim Older Adult Programs
City of Anaheim services supporting adults age 55+
- Health & Falls Screening Event
- Friday | Between 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Available volunteer slots of 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM and 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- Location: Brookhurst Community Center
National Harm Reduction Coalition
In partnership with the National Harm Reduction Coalition, we will offer:

Wise Place
Ending homelessness for unaccompanied individuals through housing and wraparound services

Anaheim/Santa Ana Community Coalition
Food Access Support for Socioeconomically Disadvantaged Neighborhoods
In partnership with an Anaheim/Santa Ana Community Coalition, we will be helping support socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods with food access.

- Saturday | 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM
- Locations can be found within the sign-up
Bright Artists
Providing high-quality art education to students without access to studio art programming
- We will be supporting this local organization with resources to continue their engagaements with underserved students.
Angel City Sports
Providing access to adaptive sports for individuals with physical disabilities
We are sponsoring Angel City Sports, a local organization that hosts year-round introductory adaptive sports clinics and provides access to adaptive sports equipment, for their upcoming Los Angeles Adaptive Sports Fair scheduled on February 22, 2026.
Angel City Sports will also be participating at CSM with adaptive sport events in collaboration with the Adaptive Sports SIG.

Sycamore Junior High
Serving 7th and 8th grade students in the Anaheim Union High School District
- Physical Therapy Assembly Event. Educating students on the PT profession and facilitating fun engagement activities with PT related equipment.

Be part of something bigger with PT in the Community! Patrick Berner, founding Executive Director of PT in the Community, shares how PTs, PTAs, and students can volunteer to support underserved communities. From falls prevention screenings to fitness events for kids with disabilities, there are countless ways to give back.
