Everything You Need to Know

How it Works

Each independent study course consists of 3, 6, or 12 monographs along with instructions for completing the final examinations online. Monographs on average require 4 to 6 hours to complete. Ten multiple-choice review questions are included at the end of each monograph for your self-assessment (answers are on the last page). Current Concepts of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy consists of case scenarios, supplemental videos and multiple-choice questions. The final examination consists of multiple-choice test questions.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the automation of our learning management system allowing you instant access to the online content and the immediate order placement for a plus print product, there are no refunds after an order is placed.

Educational Credit

To receive continuing education, registrants must complete the examination and receive a score of 70% or higher on the examination. Registrants who successfully complete the examination online will be able to print a certificate recognizing the contact hours earned. Only the registrant named will obtain contact hours. No exceptions will be made. The Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy’s Independent Study Course (ISC) program has continuing education approval from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), which, in turn, is designated an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The Academy also independently pursues approval of its ISC courses with Ohio, California, and Texas. Registrants from other states must apply to their individual State Licensure Boards for approval of continuing education credit based on the number of contact hours accompanying each ISC.
