AOPT Committee Chair Spotlight - Gretchen B. Salsich, PT, PhD
Gretchen Salsich is a professor of physical therapy at Saint Louis University (SLU). She received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from SLU and a PhD in Movement Science (biomechanics) from Washington University. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Biokinesiology at the University of Southern California. As the Principal Investigator of the Musculoskeletal Movement Science Laboratory, Dr. Salsich uses instrumented and observational movement analysis methodology to investigate biomechanical and movement factors that contribute to lower extremity musculoskeletal pain/pathology conditions, and to test movement-based rehabilitation strategies. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Health and the American Physical Therapy Association, and her research findings have been disseminated via peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Dr. Salsich teaches courses in kinesiology and gait.
