APTA Members, Earn the Registered in Musculoskeletal (RMSK) Sonography Certification

Many physical therapists are increasingly choosing ultrasound imaging to enhance their clinical assessment and reasoning skills. Many are also electing to pursue credentials to validate their skill level to other professionals, the public, and to payers. By earning the Registered in Musculoskeletal (RMSK) sonography certification, physical therapists gain a critical edge in promoting themselves as preeminent practitioners in musculoskeletal sonography. The next application period for the Musculoskeletal (MSK) sonography examination will open July 18, 2018. For more details on how to apply, schedule and prepare, please visit http://www.apca.org/msk and take note of these specific items:

  1. Apply: Review the RMSK Certification Process, the Eligibility Requirements and then log in to MY APCA to apply. The application period will be open from July 18, 2018 - September 18, 2018​​ and the written-examination administration period will be open from October 16, 2018 - November 15, 2018.
  2. Prepare: Review the Content Outline and register for an online Practice Examination.
  3. Schedule: After your application is approved, you can schedule the computer-based examination. Find a convenient Pearson Vue location near you to reserve your seat once your application is approved.
